Leadership Team

PIM is comprised of a staff of dedicated professionals that represent a unique blend of educational, clinical and statistical talent. More than half of these individuals are Certified CME Professionals, and several PIM staff members hold clinical degrees, including MDs, PharmDs, adult nurse practitioners and masters prepared registered nurses. The PIM team is rounded out by a biostatistician that holds a master's degree in public health and is a PhD candidate in health statistics.

Michael Lemon, MBA, FACEHP, CHCP
President

Michael's commitment to making a difference drives his passion for continuing healthcare education. His vision for PIM is to form successful alliances and work in collaboration to positively impact the delivery of medical care. His extensive experience in healthcare education comes to life in his position as President of PIM, where he leads the organization in pursuit of organizational excellence.

Michael is a recognized authority in the field of continuing healthcare education and has been an invited speaker for numerous engagements in the areas of compliance, regulatory issues and best practices. He is a certified CME Professional, past President of the National Association of Medical Education Companies and recognized as a Fellow by the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions. He also serves as a Consulting Editor for CE Measure.

Michael earned his MBA degree from the University of Denver, Daniels College of Business in Denver, Colorado.

Scott Hershman, MD, CHCP
Director of Healthcare Collaboration

Scott is a medical doctor with clinical expertise in emergency medicine and toxicology. His passion for continuing professional development (CPD) is evidenced through extensive collaborations on the identification, development and execution of effective and efficient continuing education for the healthcare team, by the healthcare team.

Scott's responsibilities as the Director of Healthcare Collaboration for PIM include the identification and development of collaborative educational endeavors targeting healthcare providers, academic medical centers and medical education companies, as it pertains to the CPD of healthcare professionals across a wide spectrum of formats and therapeutic areas.

As a seasoned medical educator, Scott serves on the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education's (ACCME) Accreditation Review Committee (ARC) and has volunteered with many organizations in the continuing healthcare education space, including the Association for Hospital Medical Education's (AHME) Council on CME, NC-CME and the National Association of Medical Education Companies. He is a certified CME professional and was awarded the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Healthcare Profession's inaugural Rising Star Award in 2011.

Scott earned his BA and MS from the University of Colorado at Boulder and his MD degree from the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine.

Allison Hughes, BS, CHCP
Director of Operations

Allison has been involved in the implementation and certification of continuing healthcare education since 2000. Her experience includes meeting planning and logistics, project management and operations. In her role as Director of Operations for PIM, she oversees the PIM Program Management and Record Keeping teams to ensure successful strategic collaborations.

Allison received her BS in marketing from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, and has been a CHCP since 2012.

Trace Hutchison, PharmD
Director of Medical Education

Trace has over 30 years of experience in healthcare, including a broad background in clinical practice, healthcare management, medical editing and publishing. In his current role as Director of Medical Education for the PIM office located in Englewood, CO, he manages all stages of the clinical aspects of a learning activity's development to ensure the highest level of CME/CE integrity. His responsibilities include working with PIM partners to create compelling grant proposals and performing clinical content reviews aimed at maximizing the impact of the educational programming.

Prior affiliations have included Micromedex, Inc. (Thomson Corp.); Clinton Valley Center, Adult and Pediatric Psychiatric Services; University of Michigan College of Pharmacy and the University of Michigan Hospitals Clinical Pharmacy Program. During his tenure with Micromedex, Trace served as the Director of Editorial Services and worked as both a medical writer and editor. While at the University of Michigan, he held a joint faculty position with the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy and the University of Michigan Hospitals Clinical Pharmacy Program.

Trace received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Michigan, completed a clinical pharmacy residency at the University of Michigan Hospitals Clinical Pharmacy Program and holds BS degrees in psychology and pharmacy from Michigan State University and Ferris State University, respectively.

Samantha Mattiucci, PharmD, CHCP
Director of Medical Education
Managing Director, East

Samantha holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Rhode Island. As Director of Medical Education for the PIM office located in South Kingstown, RI, she manages all stages of the clinical aspects of a learning activity's development to ensure the highest level of CME/CE integrity. Her responsibilities include working with PIM partners to create compelling grant proposals and performing clinical content reviews aimed at maximizing the impact of the educational programming.

Dr. Mattiucci has more than 10 years of experience in continuing healthcare education, following a 6-year career working in managed care for a national Pharmacy Benefits Management company. Her primary duties included clinical and specialty program development, drug utilization review, formulary management and quality assurance.

She is currently licensed as a registered pharmacist in the states of Maine and Rhode Island. She is a certified CME Professional as well as a member of the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions, and currently serves as a volunteer for the ACCME and previously volunteered for the ACPE.

Jan Schultz, BSN, MSN, RN, CHCP
Director, Education Outcomes and Accreditation

Jan has been involved in the development and implementation of continuing education for healthcare professionals for over 3 decades. Her experience includes professional development positions in academic medical centers, professional societies and medical device manufacturers.

Her current role at PIM includes serving as the chief resource for all questions related to the compliance with accreditation requirements, as well as directing the company's educational outcomes activities. The latter includes hands on management of not only PIM's standard outcomes product offerings, but also involvement in the design and implementation of complex initiatives intended to measure actual physician performance, patient and population outcomes.

Jan demonstrates her commitment to the CME/CE enterprise daily, including involvement as a volunteer for NC-CME, ACCME, the Colorado Alliance for CME and active engagement with the CME Coalition. She has been a CCMEP since 2008.
